Napa Native for Heritage House

Besides its human residents and visitors, Napa Valley is home to hundreds of native plant species. The Napa River winds its way through landscape supporting a rich riparian habitat.

I have been working on a series paintings for Heritage House that will include over 65 unique plant species native to Napa County. The building site is situated next to Salvador Creek, one of the many waterways that feeds the Napa River.

Developed by Burbank Housing with support from The Gasser Foundation, Heritage House is “envisioned as a community for smaller low-income households” offering “housing for agricultural workers and those experiencing housing insecurity”.

Each unit will have its own painting of a different local native species by the front door. Here are a few of the works in progress. Installation is planned for Sept 2024.
