In June, we held our first mosaic workshop with TeensConnect, a Napa non-profit founded by Jeni Olson to "support, engage, and empower teens through programs centered around art and wellness, peer support and volunteer projects."
We had about 12 teens come out to participate in the Quake Mosaic build and plan to have more this summer. It is always fantastic to work with Jeni and fun to reconnect with new TeensConnect hire, Whitney Davis, a New Tech High grad who I first met when she was a a teenager performing in Poetry Out Loud.
Giving teenagers a safe place to create and connect with the community means so much to me, especially as someone who had her own share of difficulty during high school. It is so empowering to know that there are opportunities for you as a creative person to express yourself and contribute with purpose, no matter what age you are.
Looking forward to having these talented artists back again next month!
