Now that we have the surface ready and two completed tile sections on the contact paper (a leg and the restaurant name), we can start the actual adhesion process. Hooray!
One of the leg sample sections transferred from the tracing paper to the contact paper.
After applying a layer of thinset, we place the tile sheet on and tape it in place. The drywall was being installed that day, so there was a lot of dust flying around and the construction crew was thoughtful enough to give us dust masks as well. #goteam
First leg in place.
Next up: the Ca'Momi name front and center. David puts on a layer of thinset.
Placing the second tile sheet with the restaurant name.
Centering the name.
David sanding the side legs in preparation for their tile later.
Hooray! the first two sections are on the oven. Now we just have to let the thin set cure for a couple of days before we peel off the contact paper.
